Written Scheme of Examination
The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 came into force on 21st February 2000. User and owners of pressure systems are required to demonstrate that they know the safe operating limits; principally pressure and temperature, of their pressure systems and that the systems are safe under those conditions. They need to ensure that a suitable written scheme of examination is in place before the system is operated. They also need to ensure that the pressure system is actually examined in accordance with the written scheme of examination.
We have a chartered engineer who can inspect, produce and bind a written scheme of examination in accordance with these regulations, however, you are able to produce the Scheme yourself, if you (or the person doing the scheme) is a 'competent person'. Certification
Whether you need certification on your Air Receiver/Tank, Safety Valves or Compressed Air Pipework, these all fall under the same legislation as the Written Scheme of Examination; The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000. Before you can have any of the above certified, an up-to-date Written Scheme of Examination must be in place (for more info see above).
